Day 21 - A picture of your favorite night

Seeing Michael with the Newsboys.  He adds a really nice touch to the group.  I love his energy.  It makes for a really good concert :)

Day 20 - A picture of a place you would like to travel

Australia.  I have never been to this place, but I love to hear people from this place talk.  They have the coolest accents :)

Day 19 - A picture of when you were little

I love this picture of me and my brother Paul.  This shows the place I loved in the kitchen.  We had a bar in the kitchen and I used to sit and stand on it.  (From what my sister Mary says, I still like dancing on tables  - supposedly she has a reliable source who says I still do this).

Most of the pictures of me when I was a kid have me in these pajamas :) I loved them.

The boy in the front of the picture is Paul my brother.  He was a great playmate.  When he got older I used to play with him...he was the Incredible Hulk (without the green makeup) and I was the bionic woman.  It was so much fun playing together.

Day 18 - A picture of your biggest insecurity - being lonely

I'm a Christian, so I know I have the Holy Spirit and that I'm never alone, but I'd love to have someone with skin to share my life.  I'm thankful that I don't have a family who pushes me to get married or asks me why I'm not married and all the other awkward questions that other singles get.  I do have a family that knows I have a desire to be married and to have a special person in my life.  That is helpful with being single.  It's tough sometimes though when we are all together and there's me.  Thankfully I do have nieces and nephews who like to do things with me and I can have lots of fun with them.

Day 17 - A Picture of something that has impacted your life recently

Zumba - Even though Zumba is a movement that has been around for awhile, but a lot of people still don't know what this is.

Zumba is the name of a dance fitness program, created by dancer and choreographer Alberto (Beto) Perez in Columbia during the 1990's.   The program combines Latin and International music with dance in n effort to make exercise fun...and fun it is!!!

I was introduced to Zumba a few years ago, but only went to one class and just about died. I didn't feel that the class was fun, just showed me how uncoordinated and out of shape I was.

The second time I took a Zumba class I was at a moment in my life where I wanted to get into shape and make a difference. My sister Mary met a Zumba instructor and wanted to take her class in South Point.  I work about 5 minutes from where she teaches the class, so I waiting around after work and met my sister with another mutual friend who took Zumba at another place.  This time around it was different.  The music was not just Latin, but also brought some hip hop and remix stuff that was fun to workout too.  The class is to most Latin, but a portion can be the fun more up-to-date music, but I prefer the more up-to-date music :)

After that class, I was a new Zumba addict-to-be.  Lisa, the instructor, told my friend and I about a class that was beginning at a local Firehouse about 3 miles from my house.  My friend was up for going and wanted to have someone to keep her accountable.  I invited a few other freinds of mine and the addition was fed.  I not love Zumba...almost as much as I love Bob (Harper)!  I have never heard Bob talk about Zumba, but I know he would approve...because I'm up and moving.  I actually enjoy working out now.  I used to say I wouldn't workout in the evening because it made less time in the evenings...and yes it does, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.  I'm thankful for the fact that I have the opportunity to take this class.  I'm thankful for my new Zumba teacher well as my personal trainer Lisa (who was my first Zumba instructor ... that helped me to love the workout).  It's been a big help to the new journey I've been on...

Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you

Lisa Irish is a new friend to me.  I was introduced to her by my sister - who wanted to visit her Zumba class.  I was not excited at all about it, as I had taken a Zumba class before and barely survived.

Anyway, after taking this class, I had made contact with an old friend who was really wanting to have someone to join her in Zumba classes.  Once taking Lisa's class, I was ready to give Zumba another try.  Getting to know Lisa has been a joy.  She has encouraged me in ways that she may not realize.  A smile during class, a text message, or even inviting me to a master Zumba class.  It has been a pleasure getting to know her and learning to love Zumba.

She is also my person trainer. She recently became certified so it's official too :) It's amazing how God brings people into your life.  Lisa has introduced me to my Zumba instructor Ashley Harper.  I wanted to post a picture, but my phone is not working at this moment, so I'll add it later :)

Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die

The thing I'd like to do before I die is get married.  My favorite proposal scene is from the movie "He's Just Not That Into You."  It is when a couple who has been together for 7 years, but hasn't gotten married decides to propose.  It's very sweet!

The thing is...I don't want to just get married to just any guy.  I want someone special :)

Day 14 - A picture of someone that you could not imagine your life without

My family is my main support.  My sister share a special bond that is an anchor to me.  I can't imagine my life without them.  I love my brothers too, but there is something about sisters that is very nice.
This is one of the latest family pictures we have...There is still someone not pictured, but she is's Chloe (my niece Marisa's daughter).  This family was specially made for me.  We are a crazy bunch of people and really enjoy spending time with each other when we are all together.  I wish they all lived's tough sometimes not having them close to me :)

Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist

This is always hard for me to narrow down.  I love music and there are many artists that have influenced my life.  Here are the top 3.

- Michael O'Brien.  He is a solo artist that has vocals smooth as butter
He joined the group Newsong for a short stint, but is back doing music as a ministry.  His latest recording is a work or worship.  Really great music to play while reading the Bible or meditating.  Michael's testimony is full of God's grace and well as the forgiveness of his wife.  He loves her with all his heart and encouraging other couples to live a life of purity in their marriage.
Natalie Grant is my favorite female vocalists. Her integrity speaks volumes in her testimony. She's very personable and down to earth. Her heart goes out to youth women - wanting to influence them in their walk with God - which is why she's involved with Revolve Tour (A teen girls Women of Faith conference)
Michael Tait began his career as 1/3 of DC Talk. His soulful vocals provided a new spin of rap music.  He recently joined the group Newboys as lead vocals and I have to say...I love the addition of this change.  It was going to be hard at first, because I thought of it as a new "Tait" band, but after seeing them in concert I saw Newsboys in a new light.  It's not a new "Tait" but a new "Newsboys."  I do miss Peter as lead vocal, but appreciate his heart to pursuing the new ministry.

Day 12 - A picture of something you love

I have said this before "I love Bob!" There is something inspiring about this man.  When I workout with him, I may be frustrated that he's asking me to do something, but I still do it, and while I'm doing it, I say "I love Bob!"  It helps me to make it through.

If I were to ever get the chance to meet him, I'd really enjoy it.  I would probably ask a lot of questions.  I definitely would take a lot of pictures, because he's very FINE!  It definitely makes working out easier when there is a really nice looking guy to look at :)

Day 11 - A picture of something you hate

I like vegetables, but I hate brussel sprouts.  I have never tried them, because I can't get passed the smell.

I'm a texture eater and I don't like mushy stuff.  I struggled eating spinach that was cooked, but as long as it's mixed with some pasta I can eat it, but brussel sprouts have a horrible smell...and I can't bring myself to eat them.  That's why I hate them!

Day 10 - A Picture of the person you do the silliest things with

My girls - Ginger, Mary and Kat.  I love them! (Ben is taking the picture and he's a lot of fun too...I can be very silly around these people.  These four are the people who know me the best (outside of my family).  I have put my foot in my mouth many times with them...and they know how my brain works.  We have fun anytime we are together...even in church!

This was taken at our New Year's Eve party...which is a tradition for us.  We have found the older we get the shorter the evening :)

I don't know what I would do without them...They are an amazing group of friends who support AND challenge me.  I love them! (What a good picture to post on Valentine's Day)

Day 9 - a picture of the person who has helped you the most

My dad is an amazing man.  He not only had been a great father to me, but His example of God's love is something that I was able to learn because of him.

I still remember what he wrote in my high school graduation card - "failure is not final."  It has been a phrase that has gotten me through my adult life.  He also was my first pastor and my favorite :)  The consistent life that he lead the church and our family allowed me to see something real - and not a fake Christian life.

He has loved my mom is a way that demonstrates God's love for us as His children.

Day 8 - A picture of something that makes you laugh

This is a picture from college. The guy kissing my foot is Tommy Hall. He is so funny and I can't think of any other guy willing to do this than he was.  I don't get to see him much now, but I used to call him my "little brother."

Day 7 - A picture of your favorite thing

My favorite color is orange and my favorite animal is penguins.  This is a picture that shows my new sheets (orange) and my build-a-bear friends.  From left to right is my bear Nathan Scott, my penguin (not a build-a-bear) named Phoenix, my first bear Michael Vaughn and my penguin Smakar.

My friends bought me Smakar and named it after themselves (Sara, Mary, & Kat).  My other penguin was bought by Kat and Ben for my 39th birthday.  I know it sounds crazy to get a stuff animal for a birthday in my 30's, but I'm so young at heart and it's a favorite animal of mine.

My conforter is my penguin comforter that my mom sewed an orange sheet to so I would enjoy being under it.  I'm very picky when it comes to blankets.  I love the first quilt that my mom made because it's made with a sheet as the backing.  It's something that I call my security blanket.  Now I have a new one, but still get to use my old one too :)

Day 6 - A picture of someone you wish you could switch places with for a day

My new favorite show is Criminal Minds.  I love Derek Morgan (Shamar Moore), but there is something about Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Grey Gubler) that makes him someone I like.  I know he's a character and I want to trade places with the actress who kisses him - in his character :)

He's adorable and geeky and so funny.  I've watched all of the first 5 seasons and have grown to just love his character with each episode.

My mom asked me "Why do you always want to kiss married boys?"  I told her he wasn't married... to which her reply was "Is he a Christian?"  I told her he's a character on a TV show and he's a fake person.  She then asked "why do you want to kiss fake people?"  My answer (but I didn't tell her) least I would be kissing someone then :)

I don't want to a boyfriend just to have a boyfriend.  I want a man who will challenge me in my walk with Christ.  One who will pursue me and love me as Christ loves the church.  I have given my "wish list" to God, but He knows who He is preparing ... and the more I think about the guy...I think He's preparing Jesus for when he returns for His bride...ME (well, I'm one of them)

Day 5 - A picture of your favorite memory

My favorite memory (or one of them) was meeting Natalie Grant for the first time.  She is my favorite female vocalist, and a really sweet lady.  She is someone I admire - not only because she is an amazing singer, but also because she is a woman of integrity.

This was also the day I met Mark Hall, her road manager (at the time since her husband Bernie was traveling with her).  Mark was single at the time, and a cutie (unfortunately for me - he's married now).

I also enjoyed this day because I shared it with my friend Carrie (Newsome at the time).  She and I had the opportunity to see so many artists.  She was a great concert buddy :)

My hair was blonde back then :) I liked this hair was taken from CeCe Winans style.

Day 4 - A picture of something you wish you could forget

The picture that I wish I could forget is a broken heart.  The picture is a cartoon of a girl getting her heart broken.  I have been there...a few times.  I think that's one of the reasons that I don't put myself out there hurts.  I know that God has comforted me after my broken heart and I'm thankful that He's always with me.  Even after time has passed, it still is hard.

Day 3 - A picture of your favorite show

First of all I have two favorite shows.  One Tree Hill is in it's 8th season...I love all the seasons...even the ones that people are not big fans of...

The second show is my new favorite show - Criminal Minds. I just started watching it, from the seasons that I bought. I haven't see the current season yet, because I was still catching up.

Day 2 - a picture of me and someone I used to be close with

This is a picture taken at a wedding for my friend Carrie. She and I used to hang out together all the time. We used to be professional concert attendees. Most of my concert memories have something to do with Carrie. We had a blast.

Due to crazy schedules our friendship doesn't get the chance to allow us to do a lot together, but I still think she knows me very well. She and I used to joke that we shared a brain.  She will still tell me that she has let me borrow it every now and then.

I loved this dress ... I think it's my favorite of the dresses that I wore to be in a friends' wedding.

(Pictured from left to right: Emily (Carrie's sister), me, Carrie (the bride), Amanda (Carrie's sister), and Erica (Carrie's friend).
