The birthday celebrations continue...

Today I met up with two of my friends to have lunch and get a couple of more presents :)  I joined, Ashley (my zumba instructor) and Kathi for lunch today.  They got me a Zumba bag and a Zumba shirt :)  I'm so excited.

We went to Casa Grande and they sang happy birthday to me and gave me a dessert.  I have a feeling those pounds that I gained are going to have some more, but I'm going to do my best this week to get them off.

I also had a piece of new york cheesecake.  It was amazing!!

Happy Birthday to me!!!

Today is my birthday :) A few years ago I got the nerve to ask my favorite artist to sing "happy birthday" to me.  He wasn't able to call, but he did send me an mp3 file of him singing it.  I still listen to it the morning of my birthday :)  It's so great that he did it for me, and thought I'd share it with my readers :)

This has been a really good birthday. I took the day off, and had biscuits and gravy for breakfast.  Then I met up with two people to help with hanging a sign for VBS.  We got together with a couple of more people for lunch.  I came home to hang out a bit.  Tonight I am going to meet up with some of my friends for pizza and fellowship :)

Tomorrow I weigh in at Weight Watchers...which will have a gain I'm sure...with all of the food I have eaten these last few days.  I will get over the weigh in and begin anew tomorrow :)

Nicole C Mullen sings Kingdom Come w/ lyrics.m4v

Yesterday, Pastor preached on Jesus' return.  With all the news about the rapture being on Saturday, he wanted to encourage us and challenge us to be looking for his return.  While he was preaching, this song kept playing in my head.  He told us to be watching, while we are watching we should be worshipping and then since we are worshipping we should be serving until He comes.

Jesus taught us to pray.

"Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.  Your kindgom come, Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen."

Nicole C.Mullen has released a new CD and the song Kingdom Come (recored with Michael O'Brien - my favorite singer) is a reminder of how we should be praying until Jesus returns.

My favorite part begins when they sing, "Let it...Come, come, come, let it come, come, come, let it come"  Then she brings parts of our lives where we need to pray that the kingdom come "In our home, let Your kingdom come, on the jobs, let thy Kingdom come, in our churches, let thy kingdom, In our Government, in our relationship, in our schools, in our marriages, let thy kingdom come..."

I just really like how that song reminds me that I need to pray as Jesus taught me to pray :)

Holy Captivated - Nicole C. Mullen - My new song of the moment

Captivated - –verb (used with object), -vat·ed, -vat·ing.

1. to attract and hold the attention or interest of, as by beauty or excellence; enchant: Her blue eyes and red hair captivated him.

2. Obsolete . to capture; subjugate.

I'm captivated by Jesus Christ.  The opening track from Nicole C. Mullen's CD "Captivated" is a great song.  It's become my song of the moment.  I love this worship song.

After hearing last night's message about everything we do be for Jesus only...not for our boasting or for us being seen, but so that we can point people to Jesus.  If we are captivated by Jesus...this is how we should live anyway.

Below is the lyrics of this song...hope you enjoy :)

When I behold the beauty of your many wonders
and I'm captivated by your majesty
O my soul rings out a sacred Hallelujah
Back to the Source from whence it came
And when I'm searching for the face of the Invisible
I reach to hold the hand that formed my being
All of a sudden everything that lives within me
Blesses your name
Again and again

Crying -
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive our greatest adoration
Jesus, Son of God is His name

When I'm overwhelmed by all that is around me
And the tears that flood my heart run down my face
I'll remember that your heart also was broken
And even in pain
You're worthy of praise

Crying -

Holy is the Lord God Almighty
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive our greatest adoration
Jesus, Son of God is His name

When I contemplate the day of our reunion
And I anticipate the One who calls my name
There's a yearning rising up from deep within me
To be swept away for'er and a day
Cause I can't wait to see the ones who've gone before me
Hear the  music, taste the laughter, walk the sea
But the moment I will live and I will die for
Is to hear His voice welcoming me, and I'll cry

Holy is the Lord God Almighty
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive our greatest adoration
Jesus, Son of God is His name
----
May God be glorified in my life :)

Stronger by Mandisa (From the Upcoming Album "What If We Were Real")

My new song of the moment..."Stronger" by Mandisa.

The other day while working on VBS decorations, my friends mentioned that I should get this song to sing.  I hadn't recalled the song...even though they play it all the time on K-Love, so I downloaded it from itunes, then listened to it this morning on the way to work.  It was just what I needed to encourage me this morning.

Psalm 27:14 says, "Wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He will strengthen your heart, Wait, I say, on the Lord."  This verse is something that has been on my heart for awhile now and I realized while listening to this song I'm getting stronger due to the waiting on the Lord.  It's tough a lot of times...when I see others getting things that I'm praying for...and it's not that I'm not happy for those others who are getting those things...I am happy for them, but there's still a hurt feeling that I'm still ... WAITING.  But this morning this song reminded me that while I'm waiting, I'm getting stronger.  I love the line from the bridge ..."He knows how much it hurts, and I'm sure that He's gonna help you get through this..."  I believe that and am thankful that I do have a God who cares what I'm going through...who's there with me in the storm...who's there for me to fall into His arms.

Hopefully you will be encouraged by this song too...

Happy Mother's Day

My momma is the best!  How many of us believe that and know it's true!  I'm so thankful that God had chosen my mom (and dad) to be my parents.  I know I am who I am because of their teaching.  My daddy preached the messages that taught the foundations for me to know I needed to be saved, but my momma was there to lead the way to Him that Tuesday night in December.  I still remember how God used her as she lead me through Scripture to answer those questions I had asked her.  I knew them,  but she helped explain them a little more and it seemed to be what I needed to hear, because that night was the night that surrender was there to accept the FREE gift of salvation.  I'm thankful for the little lessons momma taught me along the way. The most important was the one of my true identity. The one where I know I'm a child of the king...I know who's girl I am...I'm Jesus' girl!  I am royality.  No matter what happens to  my parents, I know that I'm secure in Jesus.  I will ALWAYS be His girl!

Thanks momma....
