God is on the throne by Steven Curtis Chapman

Today I'm thankful that God is on the throne  For the fact that no matter if the person I vote for doesn't make it to the White House, God is still on the His throne and in charge of things.

During this election, I have been reminded that during the history of Israel, they had good kings and bad kings.  Throughout history, even when Jesus was born, there was a ruler who wanted to kill all the babies under the age of 2, but God was still protecting our Rescuer. He had a plan since the beginning of time to bring Jesus, our Rescuer to earth.  He didn't let the fact that a ruler was trying to kill the babies to stop this plan.

I'm reminded that 8 years ago, when President Obama was elected, I was frightened at what my come to the USA...but God was merciful for these past 8 years.  No matter what happened during this election..God is on the throne! Be thankful for that fact.  I will not fear...I'll say it loud and clear...God is on the throne!!!

Let me leave you with those lyrics by Steven Curtis Chapman.

I hear everybody talking
on the right and on the left,
They're holding out their promises
while we all hold our breath,
and if I did not know better
I would be scared to death,
But God is on the throne.
I know that it all matters
and there's so much at stake
And I know we all need wisdom
for decisions we must make
But there's only one who's making promises that He won't break
And He is on the throne.
He is faithful and true,
everything He says He'll do,
And everything we go through,
He will go with us.
All the kingdoms of man
are in the palm of His hand
So I will not fear, I'll say it loud and clear, so my own heart can hear it
God is on the throne.
Well I've got my fears and worries
like everybody else
I love this country and it's broken
and in desperate need of help
So I'm praying to the one
who has the power to make us well
'Cause He is on the throne
Kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall,
only one stands through it all
It's the kingdom of
the God of grace and love
And I'm not worried because I know
God is on the throne.

Thankful Challenge - Day 6 - Natalie Grant - King Of The World (Official Acoustic Video)

I have been doing a Thankful Challenge on my Facebook page and decided to post it via my blog too. I love writing and have really missed blogging.  So here I go again to attempt to blog a little more often than previously through this year.

Day 6 - I'm thankful for the King of the world.  With the election a few days away, so many people are worried, concerned, scared, etc.  I must remember that God is in control. He has us in His hands, holding onto us.

It's great to have people using their talents for the Lord and give us songs that can encourage us in our daily walks.  So thankful to have this reminder for the next few days especially.

Hectic Week

This week was a very hectic week.  Momma had her gall bladder surgery on Tuesday. I was glad to have the day off to be with her.  My sisters Becky and Leah and brother Tim was there with us waiting.  It was good to not be the only one waiting on her.  She did well with the surgery.  She was able to go home the same day.

I also got to stay with her on Wednesday.  She did well that day too.  My sister Leah came up the next two days so I could go back to work.

Fridays are such a long day.  It's even longer because we didn't have a provider at the office.  Thankfully we did have some people coming in for nurse visits.

This weekend is a restful weekend.  Last weekend I helped my best friend on her house renovations.  Next weekend I'll be helping her again.  I need to work some more on my room to get it in order for next month's company we will be having.

Life gets in the way sometimes...

Why does life sometimes get in the way from us doing things we want to do.  Of course...it's priorities. Yes, I could write a blog daily, or even weekly, but my priorities are so out of whack right now.

I have been thinking a lot about the gospel.  The reason that we were created is to bring glory to God and tell others about the gospel.  The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.  Why is it that we, Christians, get distracted by the morals and values of the world and how they are so off track.  Instead of looking at the sins of the world, we should love them to Jesus.  Show them how Jesus loves them and died for their sins.

I work with a group of people.  I am the minority.  I'm a believer.  I read my bible, go to church, live daily to try to please the Lord...not because I'm better than them, but because I want to serve Jesus, who died for me.  I have developed a friendship with these people.  Most of them know what I don't do, but I think they miss why I live my life.  I want to work on showing them why I'm a follower of Jesus.  Because He gave His life for me.  Paid my debt, took my place.

Please pray with me, that I can show them Jesus' love and why I am attempting to live my life to please Jesus.
